What is PER ?

PER favours the smooth flow of emotions through the human body and helps to create a state of well-being and health. By a form of breathing adapted to what he is living and a contact with his inner feelings, the human being can, in a deliberate and autonomous way, cope with the various agressions life confronts him with, while still maintaining his potential for relaxation, open-mindedness and freedom of action.

How does the PER affect the human body ?

The respiratory function is controlled by two systems :

  • the autonomous nervous system, whose influence on breathing allows the body, to eliminate the toxic gases and to replace them with pure ones.
  • the voluntary nervous system, acting on the various organs of the body : heart, lungs, muscles, joints, tendons, skin, as well as on the emotions.

Many factors can be found that modify breathing, which is the reason that learning and applying adapted breathing can lead the individual to obtain :

  • physical relaxation : the recognition of the corporal feeling, created by a tension or an emotion
  • mental relaxation : the use of the human being’s capacity of concentration, to liberate tensions and emotions, in order to reinstall them in the bodily circulation.

PER will aid the individual to stay in contact with his body, to recognize tensions and to free his emotions, thereby preventing the amplification of them, in order to increase his potential of recuperation from any stressfull event.

Fields of application :

- Primary prevention :

  • The maintenance of a mental, physical and energy balance

- Treatment :

  • The benefits of the PER can be found in all types of pathologies

- Non pathologic field :

  • improvements in work concentration, pedagogy, sports, pregnancy, etc.

PER requires a personal practice, so that the patient can reduce the repression mechanism, dating from his past, and return to the living the present moment in harmony with his deepest emotions which is the guarantee of well-being and good health.
